Here are some extra things to do- aka Add-ons.
Name tags are required, but they don't have to be fancy. Everything else on this page is good and fun to do IF you have the time. But Please don't let any of these things keep you and your team from coming. My hope is, that these things will add up to a more enjoyable experience for the students.
T-SHIRTS
Team shirts are encouraged because they promote school and team unity. Teams must provide their own shirts this year Shirts are optional- if your school has uniforms, they work great.
TEAM FLAGS
Each school competing in ARTalympics is to create a School Team Flag/Banner if you can. Your team banner will be displayed in the school for the entire day. (You may use the same flag/banner you had last year or make a new one!) When you arrive, we will meet in the gym, and your team can "stake out" a spot, and hang your flag *** Morning, when everyone is still optimistic, is best time for photo op! (w/flag)
1. Your flag may be made out of cloth or paper.
2. Your flag should measure 3 feet by 4 feet in size and should be horizontally decorated.
3. You may paint, use cutout shapes, sew, or use whatever techniques you choose in designing your flag/banner.

Please create a design that uses:
- The name of our event, "ARTAlympics"
- Your school name
- Symbols/Lettering representing ARTAlympics in a creative way. Please do not use the "Olympics" circles in your design or as ARTOlympics due to copy rights
- All flags will be displayed. Show your creativity and “art spirit"!
NAME TAGS
INDIVIDUAL NAME TAGS ARE REQUIRED: Teams will be responsible for their own name tags for all team members. A school ID CARD can used if properly displayed.
THE ID LABEL/TAG MUST BE VISIBLE AT ALL TIMES, for everyone.

Here are links to the templates for name tags I use. It is a Google Image, but I download and open in (Microsoft) Paint, and copy and paste needed changes. I print them on card stock and duct tape them on. (The inside rectangle fits most plastic name tag holders.)

PUBLICITY
Teachers are encouraged to use these photos as part of any publicity submitted to local newspapers. Please help to spread the news. Please make sure anyone helping you with this understands the Alympics in ARTAlympics, and not use the trade mark "Olympics".
PMA = Pre-made artwork
I would like to try something for this April 4th, 2020 event.
If you can, please have your students bring one or more Pre-Made Artworks, to trade or barter. These can be any size, any medium(s)- so long as it won't make a mess that someone will have to clean up, and any (Middle School Appropriate) subject matter- Students, if you have a question as to weather it is appropriate or not, it most likely is not, so please choose something else to bring.

Pins
Last year we tried making pins to share and trade. I am going to do it again, and I invite any other teams to make pins. I would prefer they not be the type you design and have a company make, rather I would have you and your students make them yourselves. Here is a link to the best place I could find pin backs, and the best glue I found (for my ceramic pins) was Aleene's® Original Tacky Glue®.
How many to make? Enough for each of your students, so that they can keep one and have several to trade or barter. If you have time and really want to make more, or spread out what you do make, I doubt anyone will refuse them.
