6th Grade EVENT 1: Colored Pencils "Colorful Closeups"
What the student is making:
Students will draw "BIG". You will create a large colored pencil drawing of objects placed in a flat box. Drawing the objects as sen in the box, overlapping and in great detail.
Directions:
1. Take a flat box (12x18) and arrange various objects inside. Take time to create an interesting composition in side the box!! Lay a pre-cut frame over the objects to frame them.
2. Draw the objects large enough to fill the 12x18 drawing paper. DO NOT DRAW THE FRAME! Let the objects that disappear behind the mat go off the paper as you draw them.
3. Color and shade in your objects using colored pencils. You may use black to outline and shade with also.
4. Print your name NEATLY on the label and the adhere to the back of your artwork. **Double check the school name and your ID # .
5. Turn in your artwork and clean up!
What the Judges are looking for:
The objects drawn are LARGE enough to fill the paper and go off the sides.
Objects are in great detail.
There is a good use of colored pencils and shading.
Drawing is neat and pleasing.
