Judging:
As art projects are completed, they will be labeled, collected, and taken to be judged in a designated area. No school names, personal names, or initials should be put on the front of the projects to insure fair judging- If this happens, the piece will likely be disqualified. Each piece of art work will be scored by at least three judges. Judges will be art students (10th grade and up), with Adult Lead Judges guiding them. If you have students that you would recommend as judges, please email the director.
(All judges will be well fed- breakfast, lunch and snacks.)

POINTS AWARDED
Points will be awarded to schools based on the following formula.
For each participant who wins: the school and student both are awarded points:
1st Place.................................1000 Points
2nd Place................................. 900 Points
3rd Place.................................. 800 Points
4th Place................................... 700 Points
5th Place....................................600 Points
For each participant who wins: the school and student both are awarded points:

5th Place....................................600 Points
Grade levels will be judged separately.
Points and awards will be given for first through fifth place.
(Trophies for 1st and ribbons for 2nd-5th.) Second through Fifth place winners will be read aloud and receive ribbons from their art teachers- (ribbons will be included in the boxes with the schools artworks- which the Team Leader will pick up directly following the awards ceremony).
Team trophies will be awarded to
1st, 2nd and 3rd places, for Division 1 and Division 2
Division 1 = 6-16 students Division 2 = 17 or more students.
Points of team members will be added for team totals.
Team points will be based on a combination of number of students, and an average of their scores so that we
maximize the number of students attending,
yet make sure that the
role of the Art Coach as the Team Leader is an important part of this competition.
(A Team Leader/Art Coach must be 21 years or older.)
