6th Grade EVENT 2: Commercial Art "Cereal or Cookie Box"
What the student is making:
Students will create a fictional breakfast cereal or cookie brand and design a box cover incorporating specific elements: a title emphasize lettering; an original cartoon character; an original logo or symbol and a picture of the product.
Directions:
1. Develop an original idea for a cereal or cookie box cover. Think of what you've seen in the past to help explore possibilities.
2. Very lightly sketch out your design incorporating a title, a character, a logo and name and illustration of the product.
3. Use markers and black sharpie markers to refine and color your design.
4. Print your name NEATLY on the label and the adhere to the back of your artwork. **Double check the school name and your ID # .
5. Turn in your artwork and clean up!
What the Judges are looking for:
The project includes a title, original cartoon character, a logo or symbol and a picture of the product.
The project has a good overall interesting design,
Drawing is neat and has good use of color.
Lettering is neat and stylish.
